As of October 1, 2019, the GRE test is no longer required for admission to the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) programs. As of August 15, 2021, the GRE is no longer required for admission to the Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs. Please review additional details on the applicant page(s) for your program(s) of interest.

Applicants may include GRE scores as a part of their application if they feel their scores will strengthen their application. Applicants who choose not to submit standardized test scores will not be penalized in the application review process.

Please confirm with your school's Registrar’s Office that your transcript was sent to SOPHAS (either by mail or electronically). Account for the time it will take for your transcript to arrive and for SOPHAS to process it (up to 7 business days). More detailed information about sending transcripts to SOPHAS can be found in the SOPHAS Applicant Help Center.

There are various assistantships (research, teaching, graduate) available through ColoradoSPH; the types of assistantships and how you go about obtaining them vary from campus to campus.

No, but SOPHAS does offer fee waivers. More information is available on the SOPHAS website​.​​

MPH applications are typically reviewed one or two weeks after the preferred deadline of January 15 and then on a rolling basis. Once your application is complete and verified in SOPHAS, you usually receive a decision within approximately three weeks. If you feel it is taking too long, please contact our Office of Academic & Student Affairs.

MS, PhD, and DrPH application review usually takes several weeks. 

Certificate applications are reviewed approximately one week after the deadline. You should receive a decision two to three weeks after applications are reviewed.

At this time, the Certificates in Public Health Sciences, Global Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Latino Health, Population Mental Health & Wellbeing, Public Health Preparedness & Disaster Response, and Total Worker Health® are eligible. The Certificates in Applied Biostatistics, Health Analytics & Data Analytics, and Rural Public Health are not yet eligible.

79 is the minimum TOEFL score. 6.5 is the minimum IELTS score. 105 is the minimum Duolingo score.

Deferments are typically only offered for medical or military reasons. If you have an extenuating circumstance that you believe should be considered, please contact the Office of Academic & Student Affairs.

Please submit a transcript for review now; we will ask you to send a degree-bearing transcript once your degree has been conferred. ​

PhD, DrPH, and MS applicants may be invited to interview with the department admissions committee.

Your scholarship will be credited to your account after the add/drop date. You should calculate your portion of your bill and pay that to avoid any late fees.​

Unofficial transcripts can be viewed in your student portal under "Academics," then "View Unofficial Transcript." You can order a transcript by clicking on "Registration/Records," and then clicking "Request a Transcript."

Course offerings are published and updated throughout the academic year. Students should review the course schedules. Dates, times, and course locations are subject to change. Students should speak with their faculty advisory when selecting courses and building a degree plan.

As a collaborative school, classes are offered at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Students generally take courses at their primary home campus based on their program and area of study (concentration or focus area), however students may elect to take additional courses at any location.

The Colorado School of Public Health offers select courses in the hybrid format—a majority of course work is accessible online with limited in class meetings. The school may also offer select courses in the online format—all course work and material is accessible online. The course schedule will indicate if a course is offered in the online or hybrid format.​​​

Students are not allowed to audit a Colorado School of Public Health course. A student who is officially accepted into a degree or program may register for a course with "no credit" but the student will still be required to pay the associated tuition and fees. Students must designate "no credit" either at the time of registration or during the Add/Drop period. "No credit" forms are available on the academic forms page.

Individuals interested in taking a Colorado School of Public Health course as a non-degree student need to complete the non-degree student application process.

The CU Anschutz Office of Financial Aid has created a web-based resource to assist current students with information about federal student loans.
