Dr. Debra Kreisberg is a senior clinical instructor in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health and the former academic program director for the Certificate in Public Health Preparedness and Disaster Response at the Colorado School of Public Health. She also established the Center for Integrated Disaster Preparedness in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and continues to teach classes. She is an experienced trainer and currently provides training in the field for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
She has 30 years of experience in emergency management and public health preparedness working with populations which may have increased vulnerability and risk due to disasters and humanitarian crises. She has expertise in developing collaborative and coordinated emergency preparedness and response service systems connecting varied partners such as hospitals, health departments, emergency services, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. She earned her PhD and MA in International Studies, Refugee, Immigrant and Human Rights Law and Policy, at the University of Denver and her AAS in Emergency Management at Red Rocks College.
