In his role as Center Manager, Michael works closely with the Center’s leadership in the development of center infrastructure, with oversight of certain Center Operations, develops and manages Center and project-level budgets, as well as provides grant support, including the processing of grant applications, progress, and final reports, carry over requests and other documentation required by funding agency/organization. In this position, Michael coordinates and communicates with the University, School of Public Health Staff, and Central Departments; Human Resources, Office of Grants and Contracts, and Finance and Procurement to ensure policy and procedures are followed. Additionally, he trains and communicates these systems to support the staff and work of the Center. This position provides process analysis to plan for the management of future projects; improves workflow and work efficiencies; and determines changes needed in order to avoid repetition of errors.
Previously, Michael served in the School of Dental Medicine, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as the Program Administrator. Michael managed, coordinated, and monitored the operations and provided administrative oversight of the OMFS Division. Working directly with and in support of the Chair of the Division, he dealt with the general, indirect patient care operations and management of OMFS services. In addition, this position is responsible for assuring smooth operation of the practice through management.
