National Public Health Week

National Public Health Week (NPHW) is a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight the issues that are important to improving our nation's health. Every year, the American Public Health Association (APHA) observes NPHW during the first full week of April. During each day of National Public Health Week, APHA asks the nation to focus on a particular public health topic and to identify ways each of us can make a difference.

Event schedule

  • A featured lecture with guest Shelley Hearne, Facts Matter: Effectively Engaging in Policymaking During Turbulent Times, on April 8, from 2-3 p.m. in the Fulginiti Pavilion on the CU Anschutz campus. Hearne is a Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Register Now

 

  • The 2025 ColoradoSPH, CPHA, and CoSOPHE mixer will take place Thursday, April 10 from 5 -7 p.m. at Stanley Beer Hall. The event is free to attend and registration is required. Register now

 

  • The ColoradoSPH PHired UP! Alumni Talks will be held Tuesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at Tomayo. Register Now.

 

  • The Thrive Series, “Addressing Suicide From a Public Health Perspective: Prevention, Awareness, and Response,” will feature two CoSPH faculty. Join the Tuesday, April 15 event, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lawrence Street Center. Register Now.
