Biostatistics & Informatics

We focus on the tools that allow you to analyze data for answers.

What we do

From new technologies to new study designs, there are advances in biomedical research every day. Datasets are growing rapidly in size and Biostatisticians are needed to formulate scientific questions, plan and evaluate study designs, and collect and interpret data. Biostatisticians develop statistical methods for clinical trials, observational studies, longitudinal studies, and genomics. In Biostatistics and Informatics, there is a focus on the tools that analyze data for answers. Biostatisticians are not limited to just one research area- tools are available to evolve and study current and emerging fields constantly.

What you can learn

A degree in Biostatistics and Informatics prepares students to enter the growing field of data science and make well-supported inferences from data. When students graduate from one of the Biostatistics and Informatics programs, they are ready to lend analytical support to any number of data-supported questions. Graduates of the programs pursue careers with research groups, consulting firms, public health departments, foundations, universities, and more.
