Dr. Zell-Baran is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at National Jewish Health and the Department of Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. Her major research interests are in occupational and environmental exposures and their association with lung diseases. She works in the Center for Deployment-Related Lung Disease at National Jewish Health and on multiple grant-funded programs that support the screening of coal and other commodity miners for lung diseases and mental health conditions. Her undergraduate training in environmental engineering was completed at Lehigh University and her master's and doctoral training was completed at the Colorado School of Public Health. Her thesis work aimed to understand the immunotoxicity of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in children.
