Dr. Jini Puma is the Associate Director of the Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center (RMPRC) and the Principle Investigator for the Culture of Wellness in Preschools (COWP) program and the Integrated Nutrition Education Program (INEP). She received her doctorate in Quantitative Research Methods at the University of Denver in 2007. She has been implementing public health interventions and conducting program evaluations and research with the RMPRC since then. Dr. Puma's research interests include early childhood obesity prevention, refugee health, social determinants of health and community-based participatory research methodology. Dr. Puma received the Gertrude Cox Scholarship Honorable Mention in 2004, given to outstanding women in the field of statistics, and the Master's Scholar award in 2012, given to nine distinguished University of Denver alumni for the work they are doing in their fields. Additionally, in 2019 Dr. Puma received the ColoradoSPH Excellence in Research award.
