Dr. Molly J. Gutilla (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health and the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University. With expertise in epidemiology, public health data management, and community-driven solutions, her work focuses on addressing health inequities through teaching, research, and practice. She holds a DrPH in Epidemiology from the University of Colorado, Colorado School of Public Health, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Physiology and Exercise Science from The Ohio State University.
An award-winning educator, Dr. Gutilla teaches courses in epidemiology, research methods, public health data management, and leadership. Known for her student-centered approach and commitment to inclusive teaching, she has received several honors. She actively mentors graduate students, serves on interdisciplinary committees, and leads initiatives to enhance teaching and mentoring practices across the university.
Dr. Gutilla’s research explores the intersection of public health practice and policy, with an emphasis on environmental epidemiology, social determinants of health, and public health data methodologies.
