Shenazar Esmundo also known as Shane, is a first-generation Filipina-American pursuing her DrPH in Community and Behavioral Health at Colorado School of Public Health. Shane's work background is in community outreach and engagement, cancer prevention, and health equity research with a dedicated focus on Asian American communities. Her interests include community health worker (CHW) workforce development, qualitative methodologies, efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and community-centered engagement.
   
Shane is a Graduate Research Assistant for the Patient Navigation & CHW Training program, assisting with program evaluation and health equity-related efforts. Shane's dissertation aims to explore the lived experiences of CHWs and how systemic inequities impact the CHW workforce. Her dissertation also focuses on identifying training needs, actionable strategies, and meaningful solutions in collaboration with CHWs and CHW employers to create systems change.
