Dr. Natalie Del Vecchio is an Assistant Professor of epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Del Vecchio earned her PhD in epidemiology from the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer epidemiology at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center (Seattle, WA). Dr. Del Vecchio's experience in the field of cancer prevention and control includes collection and analysis of electronic health record, administrative, registry, and survey data. Dr. Del Vecchio's doctoral dissertation focused on how social determinants influence the way patients navigate the complex healthcare system, and how these factors affect the quality-of-care patients received as well as their quality of life in survivorship. As a postdoctoral researcher, she was a member of the team coordinating the National Cancer Institute-funded Population-based Research to Optimize the Screening Process (PROSPR II) consortium. Dr. Del Vecchio's current research focuses on factors contributing to suboptimal cancer screening process care (i.e., risk assessment, screening, abnormal screen evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment), as well as suboptimal cancer care throughout the cancer control continuum, with the goal of developing multilevel intervention strategies to improve care delivery and outcomes.
