Dr. Jill Norris

Dr. Jill Norris is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. One of the original faculty members during the founding of Colorado School of Public Health, Dr. Jill Norris has chaired the Department of Epidemiology since 2011. In 2022, Dr. Norris was awarded the American Diabetes Association’s Kelly West Award for Outstanding Achievement in Epidemiology.

In 2024, she was named a University of Colorado Distinguished Professor. Dr. Norris’ work is at the forefront of autoimmune disease research, including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis, and lupus.

During her time at the school her contributions have included extensive funded research, hundreds of published peer-reviewed papers, wide-ranging committee work, and a long commitment to mentoring students. Her commitment to the development of the next generation of epidemiologists led her to establish the Dr. Jill Norris and Dr. Michael Holers Endowed Scholarship in Autoimmune Disease Epidemiology Fund, geared towards supporting students working in autoimmune disease epidemiology.
