Strategically invest in research domains poised to address critical and emerging areas of societal need.

Develop a robust grant portfolio in targeted areas, including: health effects of climate change, social and structural determinants of health, chronic disease prevention and control across the lifecourse, and mental and behavioral health.

Leverage school strengths to address critical and emerging areas of societal need.

Bolster existing and new research resources, such as longitudinal cohorts for multidisciplinary research studies, and support for center grants and coordinating center applications.

Support engagement in research of faculty, staff and students, and across ranks and tracks.

Recruit and retain rising stars in research areas aligned with strategic priorities; develop and nurture talent through training grants, grant writing, and review support; promote researchers as local and national ambassadors that contribute to the national conversation on key public health topics.
