You're Invited!

Join us for a full day dedicated to environmental and occupational health research, practice, and impact.

Research Day 2026 is proudly hosted by the Centers for Health, Work & Environment in partnership with the Mountain & Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC) and the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health. Follow and join the conversation using #EOHResearchDay.

Research Day brings together environmental and occupational health students, MAP ERC trainees, faculty, and community and industry partners for a dynamic day of learning, discovery, and connection. The event highlights student-led research that advances worker health, safety, and well-being—spanning classrooms, laboratories, worksites, and communities.

For EOH students and MAP ERC trainees, Research Day is an opportunity to build confidence as a presenter, gain feedback on your work, and see how your training translates into real-world impact. Awards are given to presentations in multiple sections. For professionals, employers, and community partners, the day offers a chance to engage with emerging research, connect with future leaders in occupational and environmental health, and explore innovative approaches to protecting worker health.

Announcing This Year’s Keynote Speaker: Nick Williams

We are pleased to announce Nick Williams, CEO of R.I.S.E LLC and the American Subcontractors Association of Colorado (ASAC), as the keynote speaker for Research Day 2026. Nick brings a wealth of experience at the intersection of industry leadership and worker well-being, and we are excited to have his voice kick off this year's event.

Nick's career sits at the crossroads of industry leadership and worker well-being — exactly where research meets impact. As CEO of R.I.S.E. LLC and ASAC, he brings a ground-level perspective on today's workforce needs and the environment the next generation of professionals will walk into.

He has chaired the AGC Mental Health Working Group since 2021, serves as Vice Chair of the workforce training nonprofit Recovery Friendly Leader, and holds a Colorado School of Public Health Certificate in Total Worker Health®. Outside of work, Nick can be found traveling the world with his wife and son, spending time with his Westies Pacey and Joey, or keeping up with all things pop culture.

Nick works at the intersection of industry, mental health, and workforce development — and his keynote will show you just how much those worlds need what researchers like you are doing. Don’t miss out, RSVP for Research Day 2026 by April 7, 2026.
