Biomonitoring of Heavy Metals

Research assessing heavy metal exposure in Colorado populations.

About

The Colorado School of Public Health is overseeing this project as part of the Four Corner States Biomonitoring Consortium (4CSBC). The consortium is a working group funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to learn more about the amount of heavy metals in our bodies.

Up to 300 people in the state of Colorado will participate in this study. The research team will focus on two groups of people who have been historically marginalized in this kind of work or are particularly vulnerable to the effects of heavy metals:

  • American Indian and Alaskan Native adults in the Denver metro area, and
  • Children in the San Luis Valley

If you fall into one of the above categories and would like to participate in our study, please contact our team either via email ([email protected]) or by phone (303-724-8169) and leave a message with your name and phone number.
