School and Youth Survey Team

Smart Source and Healthy Kids Colorado Survey

About

The ColoradoSPH School & Youth Survey Team partners with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to oversee Colorado’s leading statewide surveys on youth health and school health practices: the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) and Colorado's Healthy Schools Smart Source (Smart Source). These surveys provide critical insights into the well-being of Colorado's young people and the school practices that support their health, empowering communities to make informed decisions.

We conduct surveys biennially, focusing on school recruitment and administration in odd years and data analysis, reporting, and planning in even years.

Our team supports these statewide efforts with expertise in:
  • Survey administration and recruitment
  • Comprehensive data analysis and reporting
  • Tailored technical assistance for communities

Mission & Purpose

To improve the health and well-being of young people in Colorado by leading the recruitment, administration, analysis, and reporting of Colorado's school and youth surveys by providing communities with actionable data to inform local and statewide decision-making, program planning, and evaluation.
