Kaitlynn Jones is a qualitative specialist in the Injury and Violence Protection Center for the Colorado School of Public Health. In her previous role as senior professional research assistant, she led the qualitative research for the Community Organizing for Prevention Program in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Kaitlynn has over 6 years experience working in global health where she lived and worked on projects in Ireland and many Sub-Saharan countries in Africa. Her goal for her career is to work herself out of a job by building capacity in local communities to advocate for the changes they wish to see. As an academic evaluator researcher it’s important to Kaitlynn that we change the system that often conducts research on communities rather than with communities. Kaitlynn focuses on authentic community engagement where communities are key partners in deciding on the purpose and practices of our research.
