Discover more about Children’s Hospital Colorado Pediatric Residency Global Health Pathway
The Global Health Pathway (GHP) is designed for those residents who plan to have a career focus in Global Health (GH) or plan to incorporate care of international populations into their practice (e.g. regular international experiences, work in resource limited settings, work with displaced populations). The pathway is currently open to categorical pediatric residents, pediatric neurology, pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation and med/peds residents.
The overarching goals are to:
All residents are required to complete a scholarly project (individual or group). Residents in the GHT will select a topic relevant to global health. The format for the activity is flexible. Examples include clinical research, significant participation in an ongoing research or community service project at an international site, policy research or development, or development of a screening tool or manual to aid physicians in the care of international or displaced populations. Consider your 30-minute presentation to co-residents as a 3rd year on your global health scholarly topic.
All GHT residents are assigned a GHT faculty mentor during their intern year to help guide their GH scholarly work as well as integration of GH into their career trajectory. This GH mentor is in addition to your residency assigned formal mentor.
