Dr. Gifford is a professor at the CU Denver Business School and a senior investigator at the Center for Global Health in the Colorado School of Public Health. He is the director of the international health management certificate and the health administration MBA program. Dr. Gifford was initiated into the Center for Global Health in 2003 and was the center's first director, from 2003-2006. Dr. Gifford has served as a New Century Fellow (Fulbright, U.S. State Department) and visiting professor at Yale, Northwestern, and Tsignhua Universities. His research interests range from hospital response to the 1918 influenza epidemic to the globalization of western health services. He currently serves as the leader of the International Hospital Federation's COVID-19 Task Force.
