We regularly work with health departments and public health organizations, proving consultation services ranging from assessments to trainings. More information about our services is available below. To request a consult, please contact us.
Outbreak technical assistance
We provide guidance with questionnaire design, interviewing, database management, epi info, data analysis, and other technical steps in enteric disease outbreak investigation.
Post-outbreak hot wash facilitation (in-person or virtual)
Taking time to hot wash or debrief an outbreak allows outbreak investigators to acknowledge parts of the outbreak investigation that went well and those that were challenging. Our trained facilitators can assist by acting as a neutral third party to identify
best practices and areas for improvement.
Remote and in-person site visits (in-person or virtual)
We can visit your jurisdiction to talk through processes and procedures. We also host guests from other jurisdictions in Colorado for “reverse site visits."
Training needs and capacity assessments
We conduct training needs and capacity assessments to evaluate training and workforce needs.
The Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) was established to improve methods at the local, state, and federal levels to detect, investigate, control, and prevent
foodborne disease outbreaks. State and local health departments self-assess their outbreak detection and investigation procedures by walking through a series of eleven "Focus Areas" using topic-specific worksheets.
We can conduct or assist states and regions in conducting assessments on a range of programmatic activities including:
- Surveillance and outbreak response
- Complaint system evaluation
- Specimen collection barriers
- Surveillance and investigation metrics
If there is an assessment project you would like assistance with let us know and we would be happy to provide assistance.
