Policy

We conduct social-action-oriented research that informs policies in healthcare, education, and legislative environments on issues that impact Latinos in the United States. We disseminate our research findings to engage and inform stakeholders that influence policy decisions—such as city, state, and federal policymakers; rights and justice organizations; as well as community members.

We received a grant from the Cancer, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Disease Grant Program—with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)—to detect, treat, and prevent these diseases using three strategies and paths. One of these paths focuses on policy, systems, and environmental changes at the community and organizational levels of the socio-ecological model.
