Valeria Ayala Alonso, MPH, is a Senior Professional Research Associate with the Community Epidemiology and Program Evaluation Group (CEPEG) as part of the Survey Research Unit. She supports survey research operations through data management, cohort management, and project coordination.
Valeria's work has focused on nicotine and tobacco prevention, as well as broader community and population health initiatives. In addition to her research role, she has served as a Program Manager for a pilot study of the YES-CAN! nicotine vaping prevention program, a school-based initiative focused on youth leadership and empowerment. She earned her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health and brings experience in rural and community health, including work with Gunnison County Health and Human Services and with the Patient Navigator and Community Health Worker Training program at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As a bilingual public health professional, she is passionate about advancing health equity and using research and data to support healthier communities.
