Fun tips to keep your family healthy

T2LH subscribers receive text messages with healthy eating and physically activity tips and information about health events close by.

Who we are

Text2LiveHealthy (T2LH) is a nutrition and physical activity, mhealth outreach effort funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the SNAP-Ed funding mechanism, that utilizes text messaging to reach and engage low-income families throughout Colorado in positive health behavior change.

What we do

The goal of T2LH is to provide parents of preschool and elementary school-aged children, teachers, and staff with resources and helpful tips to keep their families engaged in a healthy lifestyle. The program is aligned with COWP and INEP direct education-school-based programming and it is provided at no cost to the participants.

Families who sign up for T2LH will receive text messages with creative recipes, tips to eat more fruits and vegetables, ideas to stay physically active as a family, and information about health events happening close to their preschool/school.

Diversity, equity, inclusion

We will integrate social justice and equity principles into our program’s culture and curriculum to promote health and wellness best practices that highlight and honor the histories and cultures of the communities we serve. We will be driven by goals that are clearly outlined, tracked, measured, and that have accountability systems that explicitly promote social justice and equity.

Testimonials

What helped me the most is planning and buying fresh fruits and vegetables in smaller [quantities]. Not a whole lot that will go to waste and buying the fruits that’s in season.
