Dr. Talia Spark has worked in applied and research epidemiology settings conducting program evaluation, surveillance, clinical research, and administrative studies with big data. She is currently a research epidemiologist at the Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education, Clinical Care (MIRECC) at the Department of Veteran Affairs. Her research explores how a person's context influences their mental health and well-being. Her research predominantly uses administrative data, epidemiology methodology, and geospatial analysis to understand how community socioeconomic factors interact with individual factors to impact risk of suicidality and substance use. Dr. Spark is a graduate of the Colorado School of Public Health MS and PhD programs.
