Lauren Sandell is currently pursuing her MPH in Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. She is passionate in the disciplines of microbiology and enteric diseases, with interests in the food safety measures relating to preventing and investigating foodborne and waterborne illnesses. At the Colorado Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (CoE), she assists with projects related to routine enteric disease surveillance, research, and collaboration with the other CoE locations. Previously, she worked in industry as the director of labs for Kathinka Labs in Fort Collins, CO and a second lab location in Panama City, Panama. Her work focused on quality control and quality assurance within the beverage industry. She graduated from Colorado State University's Fermentation Science and Technology program and holds a minor in food science and safety.
