About the event

The International Symposium to Advance Total Worker Health® focuses on advancing Total Worker Health (TWH) research, practice, policies, and programs. Bringing together an audience of safety and health professionals, employers, researchers, policymakers, organized labor representatives, and members of the academic community, this one-of-a-kind Symposium examines opportunities to make workplaces safer and to improve the health and well-being of the workforce across the world.

Our Center, in partnership with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), proudly co-hosted and planned the third symposium.

TWH is defined as policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with the promotion of injury and illness prevention efforts to advance worker well-being. In recognition of the relationship between work and nonwork conditions, the NIOSH TWH approach focuses on how the workplace environment can eliminate or reduce risks and enhance overall worker health, going beyond traditional safety and health concerns. This symposium is the only NIOSH-sponsored event focused solely on advancing TWH research, practice, policies, and programs.
