Dr. Butler-Dawson is an epidemiologist with the Center for Health, Work & Environment where she conducts international population-based research. Jaime is also a research instructor in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health. Her research focuses on improving worker health, safety, and wellbeing through public health practice and research within vulnerable populations. In particular, she is currently focused on examining environmental and occupational risk factors contributing to kidney disease among agricultural workers in Latin America, with an emphasis on the development of prevention strategies. Prior to her academic position, Dr. Butler-Dawson worked for the Peace Corps as a health volunteer in Burkina Faso and the CDC Division of Global HIV/AIDs. Dr. Butler-Dawson received an MPH in environmental health from Boston University and a PhD in environmental and occupational health from the University of Iowa.
